As shown below, the parameters are set using drop down menus. The G.711 Coder must be set
up as show. The Payload Type value is auto-populated based on the Coder Name selected. For
example, G.711 is a ‘0’ Payload Type. G.729 is an ‘18’ Payload Type. Packetization Time must
be set to the to ‘20’ (milliseconds). Rate is fixed at ‘64’ for G.711U-law. Silence Suppression is
always configured as ‘Disabled.’
Coder Groups may be set up to provide different Coders to different IP Interfaces. Integra
Telecom supports G.711U-law (0) and G.729 (18) only. Typically, these parameters are used
when the customer has multiple SIP routes and accounts on a single MSBG. This is purely
discretionary. Up to four Coder Groups may be configured.
