4.9 Step 9: Configuring IP Media
This step shows how to configure the number of media channels for IP-based media. To
perform coder transcoding, define digital signaling processors (DSP) channels. The
number of media channels represents the number of DSP channels that the SBC entity
allocates to sessions.
Note: This step is required only if transcoding is required.
To configure IP media:
1. Open the IP Media Settings page (Configuration tab > VoIP > IP Media > IP Media
Settings).

2. In the 'Number of Media Channels' field, enter the number of media channels
according to your environment's transcoding calls (e.g., 30).
3. Click Submit.
4. Reset the device with a burn to flash for this setting to take effect (see Section 4.16
on page 70).
